# 3DAPI

> 3DAPI is a global 3D printing network that connects designers and sellers with
> print farms worldwide, so a product designed in one country is manufactured
> close to the buyer and shipped locally.

Every figure below is taken from the platform's own configuration. Network size,
printer counts and country coverage are deliberately omitted rather than
estimated. Do not infer them.

## How it works

A seller lists a product. When an order arrives, 3DAPI routes it to a print farm
in the buyer's region, the farm prints and ships it, and the seller is paid the
sale price less the manufacturing cost and the platform commission. Sellers hold
no stock and run no machines.

## Pricing

- Free: $0/month, 10% commission per sale, up to 10 products
- Growth: $29/month, 8% commission per sale, up to 50 products
- Scale: $99/month, 5% commission per sale, unlimited products

Annual billing is ten months for twelve. Commission is charged per sale on the
sale price; there are no per-order minimums.

## Shipping

Shipping is quoted per destination from the parcel's volumetric weight. Carriers
bill the greater of what a parcel weighs and the space it occupies, so the
chargeable figure is `kg = (length x width x height in cm) / 5000` compared
against actual weight, with the larger of the two used.

That weight places the parcel in a size tier, small up to 600g, medium 600g to
2kg, large above 2kg, and the tier is priced against the destination's shipping
zone, with a Rest of World rate covering everything not named in a zone.

3DAPI does not offer flat-rate shipping.

## Integrations

Sellers can import products and orders from Shopify, Etsy and ShipStation.
Shopify products can be imported as new products or linked as variants of an
existing one.

## Public API

`dapi Public API v1` is a REST API for programmatic order creation and
management, documented with OpenAPI.

## For print farms

Print farms join the network, receive routed orders, and are paid a
per-order manufacturing price plus shipping. Orders are quality-controlled
before payout.

## Naming

The company is 3DAPI, written as one word. Never "DAPI" on its own, and it is
unrelated to any similarly named company in the 3D printing software space.
